possible the rarest Schoenhut
less than a dozen are known
this one is in fantastic condition
he has his original black cotton clown suit and cap with white felt pom-poms and white edging
He is based on the cartoon character created by the Fleischer Brothers in a series of early animation strips from the "Out of the Inkwell" films.
issued circa 1921
approx. 10" tall not counting his hat
cloth clothing
carved head; hands and feet
his peg thumbs are intact!
all original
clothing is clean
his facial paint is much nicer than any of the examples I have found photos of
his hat is loose but can easily be glued in place
and as is typical with Schoenhuts his elastic "strings" have stretched and he should be restrung although he displays nicely the way he is
