Description
This is an auction is for one postcard, part of a collection I am putting up, of 17 World War II Army Air Corps airplane related postcards all bought by one soldier, whose name and unit are identified on the back of the first one, which he sent, postmarked in 1942. He was stationed at Drew Field in Tampa, Florida. Seven of them have a message for someone about his experiences there on the back. On the rest, he just wrote "Thos Tampa" or something similar and the date on the back, all being 1943 and 1944. None of the rest are postmarked, so he either sent them in a bundle or held them for later. All of these cards are in excellent condition, clean, colorful, with no tears or creases. Edges are sharp.. Mailed in a thin sturdy box... The fifth one says "Barracks At Drew Field Tampa Florida" and shows men and buildings.. On the back this card has the name of the soldier "Thos Thompson" and the date "3/4/43."
